Ian Rankin writes detective mysteries featuring John Rehus. This is the 10th installment of the series, and it features a serial killer known as Wolfman. John Rebus is on loan from his home base in Scotland to help the London police catch the mass murderer. When Rebus arrives on the scene. the London police have very little to go on to capture the killer who is starting to pick up the pace of his murder sprees. Starting from scratch, Rebus begins to put together a plan to capture the Wolfman, and in the process he meets and interacts with a varied group of characters who all have the potential to be the murderer Rebus is trying to find.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes the detective mystery genre especially when there is a main character with a number of books about his adventures in print. John Rebus is as interesting a character as the murders he is called upon to solve.
