Mari thinks this book is Worth Reading.
Although I dearly love all things Arthurian and read every book I come across on this subject, this book tries too hard to interprete the myth in a new way. Taliesin is Merlin is Kevin. Morgaine is not really evil, she didn't seduce Arthur, and their son isn't really all that bad. Gwenhwyfar is a pious fool and the whole Lancelot-Arthur-Gwenhyfar is far more perverted then simple adultry. And above all--I just didn't care for any of the characters. For an Arthurian buff, this is interesting reading, but as a real retelling of the classic tale, Steven Lawhead and Persia Wooley do it much better.
Amy Miller Burgess thinks this book is Good.
I am not so big on the Arthurian legend, but I thought this book was really neat,t he new interpretation interesting. Overall, I quite enjoyed reading this, and was surprised that I enjoyed it. I watched the mini series and thought it was CRAP. Stick with the book.
