S Healey thinks this book is Excellent.
Outstanding intro to Paganism in general, and some other branches of Paganism like Christopagans, Judeopagans and Wiccans.
Many people equate Pagans with what they learned in Catholic school or other religions, that is that a "pagan" is someone without religion.
The book explains how this is not the case, Paganism is a modern religion that has a continuum of beliefs and traditions, but here are the main ones:
A) Two central themes of Paganism: 1) blessedness (every part of the universe is blessed in its nature, and there is nothing wrong with the universe or with you)and 2) interconnectedness (the belief that every part of the universe is profoundly interconnected).
B)Other general characteristics of Paganism: 1)Paganism has no central hierarchy or dogma 2) Paganism stresses personal responsibility 3) Paganism offers a different worldview, it incorporates new perspectives of science, metaphysics, and mysticism and consciously breaks from the traditional Newtonian version of the world.
If you are a spiritual seeker, or just interested in world religions, you will enjoy this book. It is very clear, with wonderful analogies and examples to illustrate concepts.
My personal spiritual growth was greatly enhanced by reading this book.
