An exact reproduction of the original 1864 book by Mrs. Haskell, this book is delightful! Filled with recipes that are more or less a narritive compared to modern recipes, instructions on how to run a house, keep servants, plant and tend a garden and orchard, how to decorate your house and ever personal hygene. A wonderful book for the Civil War buff, and those (like myself) who love learning how people lived in the past.
