Fear of Music: Why People Get Rothko But Don't Get Stockhausen - Rated Excellent
This is a great (and short) read for anyone listening to more experimental music. As the strapline says it examines the hype and laziness in my opinion of why abstract visual arts reach a mass audience, often for a whole load of money as well, where as auditory arts are labelled as difficult and largely ignored. David Stubbs constructs an excellent arguement inspired with the obvious passion he has for the subject matter. Beg, borrow, steal.
