The Death of Achilles - Rated Worth Reading

Pros

  • Good Fun. Lots of twists.
  • Fast paced.
  • The historical setting is pretty well laid out.

Cons

  • I find the main protagonist to be a bit too infallible ... and thus not really very believable.
  • You have to suspend belief a bit for the plot to work IMHO. Unless you're a purist, this shouldn't matter too much.

Other

  • I found that I had to start making notes of characters names with memory prompt words. It's not that there are too many confusing characters, it's just that the long Russian names all look the same to my poor tied brain at 9 o'clock at night. (I wouldn't suggest that the author change the names, however.)

Summary

You won't regret reading it. I'm going to look at others in the series.
